the Liminal Lounge

A counter-cultural women’s circle for the ones who don’t want to fix themselves, but grow into their full potential.

This is your space.

First Season opens on the Full Moon of June 29th.

Join the Founding Circle:

    liminality

[ limen — threshold. the position at, or on both sides of, a boundary. ]

    Welcome to the in-betweens.

I have a guess why you’re here. You are a woman in transition.

A career pulling you somewhere new. A relationship that has ended or is changing shape. A version of yourself outgrowing the container that used to hold you. A new identity taking shape within you, a new role, assignment, vision for yourself.

Perhaps nothing looks obviously different from the outside, and yet there is a felt sense, somewhere in yourself, of standing neither in the one, nor the other.

You are in the in-between. Yay.

And I’m here to welcome you. Into this thrilling phase of self-discovery, of letting new things grow in you. And we are here together to navigate those waters of uncertainty and change, through the safety of our own body, our nervous system, our somatic intelligence, that are all lined up for you to carry you through this rite of passage, and to find some gold nuggets on the way.

    Something real. Something alive.

And my guess is that that’s what you’re looking for. Not rigidity, not going back to the safe restrictions that made you break them, not to the frustration of feeling stuck that might have brought you here.

You’re here for the aliveness. For the thrill of the new. For the depth of your transformation.

We’re here for it too. Welcome to the Liminal Space.

Let me be straight with you.

If you’re looking for a twelve-step program to fix your anxiety, a ‘proven method’ to decode your attachment wounds and heal your symptoms, or a thirty-day challenge to get over your childhood trauma and move on to your best version of Self quickly -

    - this is not that space.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

Our society is, collectively, addicted to the promise of quick transformation.

Get it done. Be done. Move on. Level up.

And we find those kind of ‘solutions’ easily. The healing industry has puffed up with countless iterations of trauma-release practices, shake-outs, dance-outs, cry-outs… Somatic release, psychedelics, ecstatic dances…

We’re pulled to this kind of intensity, to push our trauma out of us, to burst through our subconscious blocks, and to finally heal that inner child of ours, and with it the clunk of generational patterns that we carry in our bodies, so we can move on with our lives, get rid of the anxiety and depression, and be aligned with our authentic self again.

    Those practices aren’t necessarily bad.

But they are all stemming from the exact same nervous system state that we are trying to get out of.

    High Intensity.

    Chasing peak-experiences.

    Fixating on the problem.

Being constantly over-threshold and calling it healing work.

Respectfully, I call bullshit on that.

There is a trap at the heart of our culture's approach to growth.

We have come to believe that we can perform our way into healing.

That authentic becoming is a linear process: identify the pattern, apply the method, arrive at the outcome. That if we push with enough intention, optimise the right variables, work hard enough on ourselves, we will eventually arrive.

At wholeness. At authenticity. At ourselves.

A logic that might work for machines but does not work for our human nature.

And we have forgotten a fundamental truth: we are not separate from nature. We are part of it.

    Made by it. Are it.

    〰 〰 〰

And nature does not operate by force and control.

It operates by emergence and self-organisation. By rhythm and cycle. By conditions, not commands. It creates the right environment, and then allows the natural intelligence already running through life to move.

We are no different. We are nature.

Authentic development does not respond to more doing. It responds to the right conditions.

Not more intensity. Not more pressure. Not a better strategy.

The conditions for what is already alive in you to move.

The liminal space is not a waiting room. It is a rite of passage. And it asks something of us that our culture has almost entirely forgotten how to do.

To stay. To feel. To unravel. To let ourselves be changed by the crossing, rather than just survive it.

Slowly. Organically. As nature has made us.

The Liminal Studio - a space for natural unfolding

Because phases of threshold, rites of passages do not have to be done all alone by ourselves.

In fact much of the pressure we carry around transitions come exactly from the isolation - the idea that we need to do it all by ourselves, hold everything together, and not let anyone see what we’re going through.

The mask we need to hold upright to protect our status, our reputation, our role.

This community is the space to put that mask down.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

And instead of analysing, doing and performing our healing, we enter a real-life relational field that doesn’t ask us anything more than being ourselves, as we are, right now in this moment.

A field that has space for all the blacks and whites and endless shades of greys in-between. That honours all iterations of our identity - the ones that are dying, the ones that are becoming, and the one that is observing it all in real time.

A field that can hold subtlety, nuance and polarity.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

Together as a trusted collective, we develop a new kind of capacity, an uncommon act of allowing each other to be as we are in the midst of our unravelling, without needing to fix each other, without needing to change, without needing to dish out well-meant quick advice.

Without expecting ourselves to be over it, quickly.

It’s a new kind of capacity to witness and feel, to observe and respond, without succumbing to the old urge to push past, to repair, to fix.

A capacity that lives deep down in our nervous system, rooted in our biology as humans, made by nature, and being equipped with this universal feature of self-realization, self-organisation, self-healing.

If we allow the right conditions for it.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

It’s a capacity that grows slowly, a counter-cultural learning curve, over repeated returns to this different kind of practice. A slow growth we learn to cultivate together through our bodies, through our nervous systems, simply by being in the supporting kind of environment.

The space we hold for each other.

    What we practice inside…

    Self-acceptance without judgement

    Self-patience without lethargy

    Self-leadership without pressure

    Self-expression without performance

Wherever you are in your journey, you’re welcome.

    And I really mean it.

Come when you’re stuck. Come when you’re messy. Come when you’re scared. Come when you’re thrilled. Come when you’re cranky. Come when you’re lazy.

Come when you’re full of ideas. Come when you’ve no idea where to go next. Come when you’re seeking your way. Come when you’re completely lost.

Come when you’re energized. Come when you’re tired.

Come and bring your gorgeously unpolished, imperfect, human Self into our shared space, and we’ll make some magic together.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

This is a freshly evolving space, so we’ll let it grow and shape organically. In live zoom sessions. Unscripted and real, facilitated by me as your spaceholder, co-created by you and your presence.

For the first season I’m imagining meeting bi-weekly for circles of sharing, practices for regulation and resourcing, space for self-realization.

I’ll be bringing my earthy vibes and skills in Somatic Yoga, Nervous System Resiliency, intuitive movement, and will guide us in cultivating the conditions for self-healing and re-organisation within our organism.

Meet the Queen of the in-betweens

Hey there, I’m Elena and I’m proud to introduce myself to you as a person who knows exactly what she means when she talks about the liminal space.

Being wired as a person who is super sensitive to systems of rigidity, fake authority, or hyper-definition in our roles or societal expectations, I’ve coached myself through my own undoing of a fixed life that didn’t leave me room for growth. Full story here.

Being a Human Design ‘shore’ environment, I am evolving into embodying this kind of liminality within my presence as a Somatic coach, Yoga guide and Organic spaceholder to help cultivate states of flow, movement and evolvement for the humans in my field.

    Training & Approach

I’ve trained and certified in various iterations of Yoga (650h), Nervous System Resiliency, Post-traumatic growth, Organic Intelligence, Reiki & Energy work and the art of Somatic Coaching (ACC level) , including adaptions of mind-body psychology interventions like Focusing, Gestalt, Systemic Constellations, Hakomi, Sensory Integration, improvisation.

My work and practice is fueled and sourced by the underlying principles of Zen & Taoism, Process work, Complexity Science, Systems Theory, Flow, and the human principles of self-organisation and organic growth.

    〰️ 〰️ 〰️

Coming into my space you can expect a presence of spacious safety for your unfolding, patience in your process, and a deep optimism in the infinite goodness and hope that life has in store for us, should we choose to see it.

If you’re looking for deeper, bottom-up work on your personal transition, states of anxiety, chronic stress or burnout, you are welcome to my 1:1 coaching.

Just schedule an Intro call with me here and we’ll see how my approach might fit into your life.
